Ajay Devgn’s Office Clarifies Juhu Property Is Rented Out
Ajay Devgn’s office has clarified that the property in Mumbai’s Juhu area, where the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) recently carried out partial demolition, is not the actor’s residence. The statement comes after the civic body took action over alleged unauthorised construction at the premises.
In its statement, the actor’s office said, “We would like to clarify that the property in question is not Ajay Devgn’s residence, but a separate property that has been rented out.” The office further stated that an application had been submitted to the BMC for the requisite permissions for one of the actor’s properties. It added that the necessary changes and modifications, as required by the civic body, had been carried out.
Why Did BMC Demolish Parts Of Juhu Property?
According to information provided by the BMC, the civic body issued a stop-work notice on September 10, 2026, directing those responsible for the construction to halt the work immediately and submit the relevant documents and permissions.
The alleged unauthorised work reportedly included internal alterations, partition walls, windows and other modifications that were being carried out without the necessary approvals. The BMC subsequently proceeded with the demolition of certain portions of the property, stating that the work had allegedly continued despite the notice issued under Section 354A of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act.
The property, measuring 7,802 square feet, is located at Plot S-10 on N S Road No. 11 in the JVPD Scheme in Juhu, within the Kapol Co-operative Housing Society. The controversy also concerns the proposed commercial use of the premises as a salon and spa. Local corporator Sudha Singh reportedly stated that the K-West ward had not granted permission for commercial activity at the property. The matter has raised questions about whether the premises had the requisite civic approvals for the proposed commercial establishment. Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn’s office has now clarified its position on the Juhu property, stating that the premises is rented out and that the necessary modifications have been completed in accordance with the BMC’s requirements.
