Oben Electric has surpassed the production mark of 10,000 electric motorcycles in India. The achievement comes as the Bengaluru-based EV maker scales up operations for its Rorr Evo. According to the EV manufacturer, the new electric motorcycle has crossed 25,000 bookings, while deliveries have already begun. The Rorr Evo went on sale in April this year. The electric motorcycle has contributed significantly to the company’s recent production push. Read on to know more.
Oben Electric Production Capacity
The company manufactures its motorcycles at a facility in Bengaluru, which is spread across 3.5 acres. It has an annual production capacity of up to 1 lakh electric motorcycles. Here at the manufacturing plant, a vertically integrated approach is adopted, with the company developing and manufacturing several key EV components in-house, including chargers, LFP battery packs, motors, vehicle control units, and proprietary software.
Oben Rorr Evo Dominates Market Demand
The Rorr Evo is an imperative part of Oben Electric’s current production ramp-up. It carries an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 1.25 lakh. The bike uses a 9kW electric motor mated to a 3.4kWh LFP battery. It has a claimed IDC range of 180 kilometres.
Oben Electric To Enhance Retail Network
According to industry reports, Oben Electric is working towards expanding its retail and after-sales network to scale up production and deliveries of its electric motorcycles across India. It has more than 150 showrooms and dedicated Oben Care service centres across over 90 cities in 18 states, which enhances its presence across key markets. The electric motorcycle maker reportedly plans to increase its reach by adding 200 exclusive showrooms by the end of FY27. It is expected to improve the availability of products while also bringing sales, servicing, and customer support closer to potential customers. The strengthened network comes at a time when Oben is increasing its manufacturing capabilities to meet growing demand.
