The Congress-backed National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) has launched allegations against the Delhi University (DU) administration, claiming that the DU administration favoured RSS-backed students organisation, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) during the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) 2026 elections.
“It is a neck-to-neck fight. We had a significant lead in the beginning, but they have gradually reduced it. Now, I would like to tell you that they are continuously trying to commit electoral irregularities because they have realised that they are losing,” NSUI president said in a video.
“The Delhi University administration has come out in support of ABVP!” NSUI also tweeted through its official ‘X’ account.
NSUI alleged that their candidate, Vijay Meena, maintained lead in the DUSU Presidential race for long, but was rigged later to make ABVP candidate, Yash Dabas, win the post. “There have been continuous attempts at rigging and influencing the counting process. The lead that NSUI’s candidate for the president’s post, Vijay Shankar Meena, has held for a long time is being gradually whittled down, and the pace of counting is also being slowed,” NSUI tweeted.
This allegation has been made by NSUI President Vinod Jakhar. He called on to all NSUI candidates and supporters to reach DU stadium, where the counting was taking place. “The administration of Delhi University has completely sided with the ABVP and is making every effort to rig the election. I request all NSUI candidates, supporters and students of Delhi University to reach Delhi University Stadium, where the vote counting is being held, because the votes you have cast are being stolen, I would say,” Jakhar said in a video.
He also claimed that DU administration and ABVP are commiting electoral irregularities. “They are commiting various eelctorla irregularities, which we are learning throguh various mediums and phone calls. I would say that the Delhi University administration is completely trying to ensure ABVP’s victory,” Jakhar alleged. “I request all the students and supporters to reach the stadium.”
DUSU results 2026 were declared around 4 pm on September 19. This time, ABVP has won three out of four posts. ABVP’s Yash Dabas has been elected as the President of DUSU, Riya Chhawdi has been elected as the Secretary, and Lakshya Raj Singh has been declared as the Joint Secretary. Meanwhile, independent candidate Deepanshu Shokeen, who was earlier associated with NSUI, has been declared Vice President.
