Ramayana Vs Dhurandhar 2 Day 1 Advance Booking: Will Ranbir Kapoor Mytho Epic Be Able To Beat Ranveer Singh’s Spy Thriller?

ramayana vs dhurandhar 2 day 1 advance booking will ranbir kapoor mytho epic be able to beat ranveer singh spy thriller

Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash starrer Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is two days away from a grand theatrical release. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the mythological epic has recorded impressive advance bookings thus far and is likely to gain momentum in the final hours. The biggest question right now is whether the Namit Malhotra-backed magnum opus will be able to overtake Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2 in Day 1 pre-sales. The spy thriller currently holds the record for the highest advance booking for an Indian film in 2026.

Ramayana Day 1 Advance Booking Crosses Rs 34 Crore

Ramayana is gathering pace in pre-sales with each passing hour, setting the stage for a massive opening on November 5. At the time of writing, the Day 1 advance bookings have crossed the Rs 34 crore gross mark in India, according to Sacnilk. Karnataka is currently the leading state, thanks to Yash’s cult fan following in the region. Maharashtra and Delhi occupy the second and third spots, respectively, as of now.

Given its humongous budget and star-studded cast, comparisons with Dhurandhar: The Revenge have already started. The spy thriller sequel recorded the all-time highest advance booking numbers for a Hindi film. For its paid previews, Dhurandhar amassed Rs 47.90 crore in pre-sales, whereas the Day 1 numbers stood at 40.30 crore. Thus, Dhurandhar 2 collected a staggering Rs 88.20 crore in overall advance bookings for paid previews and the opening day.

Now, since Ramayana does not have paid previews, a direct comparison with Dhurandhar 2 would be unfair. However, when compared to Day 1 figures, the mythological epic is approximately Rs 6 crore away from crossing the Aditya Dhar directorial. Given the current trend and with one full day left, Ramayana should comfortably take over Dhurandhar 2. Still, one will have to wait and watch.

Ramayana Goes Global

Namit Malhotra and team are presenting Ramayana on a global level, with the aim of taking Indian mythology to the world. A special screening was held in Los Angeles for foreign critics and the response has been encouraging so far. Besides, the cast and crew, including Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, have gone all out in promoting the film across the globe.

If the film finds acceptance in major markets such as the US and the UK, Ramayana could start a fresh chapter in Indian cinema, bringing long-overdue global recognition to its stories.
