Noida: A 28-year-old man died by suicide after allegedly jumping from a high-rise apartment at the Supernova building in Sector 94, Noida, on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Sambhav Jain, a resident of Manesar, Haryana. According to police, Jain had come alone to stay for a day in an Airbnb room at the Supernova building.

Police said Jain allegedly jumped from the balcony railing of the room. Before the incident, an AC repair team was working in a nearby flat. The workers reportedly spotted Jain hanging from the balcony railing and tried to save him.

According to police, Jain told the repair workers that he was “depressed” before jumping.

Noida Police said they received information about a body on Saturday morning. A police team from Sector 126 reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem.

Police are examining CCTV footage from cameras installed in the building and nearby areas, and questioning people present in the vicinity at the time of the incident.

The body has been sent for an autopsy after informing Jain’s family members, police said.

Police officers and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team inspected the spot and collected evidence. CCTV footage from cameras installed at and around the building is also being examined as part of the investigation.

“During questioning of people present nearby at the time of the incident, it was learned that the deceased was under mental stress. The deceased’s family members have been informed and further legal action is being ensured as per rules,” police said, as per Times Of India.
